Diversity
Wiley, our publisher, in collaboration with 48 publishers and societies in the Joint Commitment for Action on Inclusion and Diversity in Publishing, committed to understanding and reflecting our research communities and developing standards and processes for collection of self-reported data.
Curator: The Museum Journal is part of Wiley’s RISE (Research in Support of Equity), providing free-to-access curated collections around the topic of social equity. For example, the curated collection ‘Diversifying Museums.’
Equity
Visual text: The museum field relies on visual imagery and evidence to strengthen professional practice. In 2022, Curator adopted Visual Text as a requirement for figures and images published in the journal. Publications that feature visual text improve accessibility by supporting screen readers, so that all museum professionals can use these resources including blind, low vision, and other accommodations.
Access
Research4Life provides institutions in low-and middle-income countries with online access to academic and professional peer-reviewed content including Curator: The Museum Journal for free or at low cost.
